Hollywood!

This was a really strange experience for me. Mostly the street performers. Like, I can't tell you how many Michael Jackson's we run into. Granted it was the day of his funeral, so I can see the merit.
This is fake Michael, real crowd of fans waiting in line.

Funny story, I was walking past the Chinese Theatre to meet my sister, and apparently that's where his star is. Check out this line!

So once I saw the cops, I immediately just thought, ummm, I need a picture. So I sorta, broke through the barriers, snapped a picture, and then got thrown out of the crowd by security. It was totally worth it.

The highlights of the Hollywood adventure was sitting under James Dean at McDonalds, meeting that really awesome family with the magazines, the Beatles Star, and obviously seeing Erica (mingle with the street performers. Apparently her, Edward Scissorhands, Marilyn Monroe, Spongebob Squarepants, and Jason go way back.)

After we were done being tourists, we got to check out Erica's apartment. It was really cute, she had all of her fashion designery things all over. Her roomie was really awesome, but I cannot for the life of me remember his name. I'll think about it and come back to you. James maybe. Anyway, his puppy though was sooo cute too. His name was colby I think.
So here he is!! Could he get any cuter?? The answer is no.

CALIFORNIA!!

Alright so continuing on with my awesome journey west!
Driving into San Diego was really quite a sight. There we're so many hills and houses! And they were beautiful houses. I love those terra cotta roofs or whatever they're called.
We got to San Diego and stayed in a park that was on one of the bays. It was fun stuff there, we went out to the beach at night and then in the morning, all of us went out again, but this time we got to show off our skillz!

Nathan was doing his cheerleading routine with me and Jack, both of whom were really quite terrified to perform in these acts. He kept flipping Jack backwards, and saltwater isn't the funnest thing to get up your nose apparently. We're not really used to this kind of water... but afterwards, it does feel like it kind of cleansed our senses. Oh, and we were also juggling on top of each other's shoulders, which drew quite a crowd.

Just like when we did that on St. Patrick's Day. That was one the best days actually. Picnic under the arch, doing tumbling and juggling... how much better does it get than that?
Okay, I'm getting off track. At the beach we saw some dude with a surfboard, and his daughter was catching some waves on her boogeyboard. Yeah, I got pretty jealous.
We spent the fourth of July here as well. We celebrated by taking a 5 hr tour of the USS Midway... kinda interesting, I think I saw Spock.

Ummm... I need to show you pictures from that day. Doesn't it look like My grandpa owns a walkman? And I love Jack!

We also roamed around the city and ended up eating at this awesome restaurant in Old Town. I had an avocado sandwich, yummy!

NBC was behind me!
So when night eventually fell upon us, we were on the beach checking out the fireworks of the community around us. We were pretty close to Sea World that night, so we were blessed to see their display of sky rockets. Fourth of July is my favorite holiday. I get to lie down in the grass, or sand, and just stare up at the sky, it's a good feeling.

Waiting for the Fireworks and Belting Bleedin Love!!

It took me forever to get a decent shot of a firework, but I think I managed at least one.

Okay, so that pretty much summed up my Fourth!

Talk to ya soon Love

Traveling the Countryside!

We left on the 28 of June.

Since I'm going off to Mizzou in the fall, I really wanted to take a big trip before I had to stay in Columbia for four years.  So my grandma agreed, bought an RV, and we headed westward to California.  But of course, we had to make some stops along the way.

 New Mexico-

Stopped at the visitors center for kinda  a ridiculous amount of time. Watched a little snippet of something about the alignment of the sun.  I got lost for awhile.  Oh, I also had a nasty encounter with a nettle for the first time.  Not very fun mind you.

Some awesome lady said I was beautiful, and had a beautiful family and gave me a really cute turquoise ankle bracelet.  It makes me happy that people are just naturally generous.  Then behind us, at a pavilion, there were lots of kids jammin out to Michael Jackson.  Pretty crazy.

Lady at sonic ordered a grape dr. pepper, maybe a southern thing, not too sure.  Oh, also the had some kind of like chili burger.

Arizona-

Well when I woke up today at like 1 in the morning, I saw that we had parked at the entrance to a petrified forest. Which is where we still are at 10 am, mountain time.

Grand canyon-

Much much bigger than I remembered.  We went to lots of different lookouts this time, and it literally looks different from every angle.  That night we decided to sleep outside under the stars.  Beware of coyotes!  I saw three shooting stars as well.  The sky was quite clear out in the middle of nowhere, away from all the city lights.

The next morning, I had the wonderful pleasure of seeing the sunrise at the Grand Canyon, it was grand.  My aunt said she was surprised no one clapped, I would have.  It was a pretty spectacular sight to behold, I highly recommend it to everyone.

This was also the day that we decided to get daredevily for some gnarly pics.  Kinda dumb idea, but no one got hurt.  We also hiked down the canyon a little ways.

Met some awesomely hot brazilian/Portuguese guy and asked if he wanted me to snap a pic of him and his lady friend.

I'm not going to get into San Diego quite yet because I am not yet there.

By the way, rv's aren't so bad.  Juggling isn't too hard in a moving vehicle.  But the only thing else we can really do is play apples to apples or card games, which is still fun.  Alright well I'm getting sleepy, so I'll post some more later!
